History In The Making featured prominently in the Saturday edition of The Daily Telegraph on 3rd July. The green oak arch bench, from the award winning Jane Seymour garden in last years show, opened the list of "must have goodies" in the Hampton Court Flower Show Special supplement.
History in the Making offer a range of services using traditional skills and craftsmanship. Most of our work is designed and made to order. We involve our clients closely in the design process and we are happy to use any sketches, photographs and ideas the client may have. We also have a large range of standard products which can be redesigned to meet your requirements. We can offer quality products such as indoor furniture, outdoor furniture, green oak timber framed structures and small garden and household items, most of which are made from certified English Oak.
History in the Making started life making furniture for museums, historical sites and interpreters and we remain prominent in this field to date. Our particular specialities are the Medieval and Tudor periods. We have brought the knowledge gained of early furniture making and carpentry to bear on contemporary pieces with a long lasting quality and style. Our furniture is made from quality English hardwoods using traditional tools and methods where appropriate.
Our designs for garden furniture and structures are influenced by the timber framed building tradition, early furniture and period garden illustrations. We often work with architects and other design professionals as well as designing direct for the client. These pieces are made from fresh sawn English oak and are designed to be left outside throughout the year. They are left untreated and allowed to mellow with age and exposure to the weather. Our structures include arbours, gazebos, garden buildings, gateways, fencing, trellising, raised beds and planters.
